“The Story of Studying Hebrew in Medieval and Renaissance England, told through the Manuscripts of Corpus Christi, College, Oxford”.  Professor Pormann is the director of the John Rylands Research Institute and Professor of Classics and Graeco-Arabic Studies at the University of Manchester, and an expert in the many contacts between Muslims, Jews, and Christians writing in Greek, Latin, Hebrew, and Arabic, seen especially through the lens of Graeco-Arabic texts both scientific and medical.
 
The lecture will be held at 5:30 in HGS 211.
