This Friday (10/14), the Digital Propertius Project (under the umbrella of the WHC classics and theory group) will be meeting at 4-5pm in Phelps room 401. The working group is open to everyone from any discipline. No previous knowledge of classics, theory, digital classics, Propertius, or XML is required, just an interest in the processes and consequences of digitizing texts. There will be a mountain of muffins and other foods/coffees.

We will be reading Jerome McGann and thinking about the hermeneutic and ideological decisions made in editing and marking up texts. During this session we will also make our first tentative steps into marking up the text of Propertius.

I would also like to alert your attention to our campus press site. Please get into contact with us if you wish to be added as a user and contribute to the discussion!
